Starting from Chute Lake Road just above Summerhill Winery:

• look for sign for KVR, Narramata, and Penticton, near 49.788769, -119.50058
• at 11km, turn left onto KVR at 49.756136, -119.45059
• old KVR trestle can be seen on the left at 49.75135, -119.44356
• turn left onto small trail at 49.75633, -119.43684
• parking lot at 49.75958, -119.43371
• follow signs or trail to gate in fence, less than 2 minutes from parking lot

Last time I visited the boulderfield was October 2004, one year after the big forest fire. At the time, the area was just starting to recover, where the trail seemed to be in the middle of a field. Now, 8 years later, the same trail looks very different.

We did get quite far into the boulderfield today. Further than what I though we'd do, especially since this was the first time the kids ever went. I didn't have Rose with me, which turned out to be a good thing. I didn't bring her as I thought it would be a difficult hike, but I don't think I remembered just how difficult it is to navigate the boulderfield.
