The company where I worked for 6½ years until last December's layoffs finally shut down the Kelowna office in mid-August. They were getting rid of most of the office furniture, computers, screens, and old network equipment.

Current and ex-employees like myself were encouraged to pick up what we wanted before office recycling companies were called in to take apart the office.

I picked up several desks, a few older DELL computers and LCD screens, as well as some hubs, switches, and various other networking equipment. It was sad to see our old office finally shut down this way, but at the same time I'm glad I was given the opportunity to bring a few things home.
