Time to take care of the flooring downstairs. The carpet was ruined even before we moved in, and the floor in this room was uneven. Since we're now contemplating having to move soon (I've been out of work since April 30th) I figured now is a good time to take care of it.

• first, all of the carpet was cut and removed
• I taped together plastic sheets to protect the subfloor from moisture
• the 1" x 2" wood slats were nailed into the existing cement floor (I had such a headache from using that gunpowder nail gun all day...)
• sheets of plywood are installed over the wood slats
• the room has been painted
• floor is covered with foam underlay
• the flooring is in place, but I ran out and had to order 2 more boxes
• finally, exactly 1 month after having started, baseboards are in place and the room is done
