From: "Jean-Francois Charette" To: [...] Subject: Ontario x 2 ???? Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2004 12:51:26 -0400 I kid you not... I actually saw a cloud yesterday. It was even big enough to hide the sun for a minute or two. I was in complete shock and disbelief. I was starting to wonder if they were just some strange invention created by those that live on the East side on the mountain. Last night when I looked in the mirror, I realized I honestly needed to wash my face... My nose is so burnt (even after putting 250 SPF mountain sun blocking cement) that it's starting to bleed. I didn't find that very amusing but my friend that I've been traveling with for the past 3 days was certainly laughing at me. Speaking of which, I met Niklaus just a bit outside Jasper. This Swiss nut started his trip at the same time as me and traveled the same amount of distance (4500 Km when wet met) Only thing is he started in Alaska and is planning to go to Argentina. That's about 30,000 Km in one year!!! And I thought my trip was big! We biked together through the Icefields Parkway (Jasper to Lake Louise and even went to Moraine Lake as well as Ross Lake. Yesterday we left Banff National Park and went through Kicking Horse Pass (We were going down hill for about 70Km on that one... That was a lot of fun) Today however he left early to continue his trek south where as I am heading West from here. The last mountain pass before I reach Kelowna is only 100Km away (Rogers Pass) and compared to the ones I passed in the National Parks, this one shouldn't be a problem. It's a lot smaller and a lot shorter then some of the other ones I did. I still stand firm in my belief that the worst riding days for a biker (when talking about hills that is) is in the Lake Superior area in Ontario. Well I should be done in about 3 days (If I get going that is) So I'll leave you all in the hopes to see everyone of you real soon. :) Leo - Is he giving you problems (Bruno that is) You say the word and I'll jump right over there if that's the case :) Annie - Il ne rest qu'a savoir c'est quand que tu arrive ;) Steph - I'm a bit confused... Is there TWO Ontario provinces in Canada? I just past a sign that welcomes me into Ontario! And the BUGS! MY GOD!!! Look at the size of THAT one! It's trying to steal my bike. RUN AWAY!! THERE EVERYWHERE! THERE AFTER ME! AHHHHHH!!!!
