Just outside of Kelowna is a portion of the Kettle Valley Railway that goes through Myra Canyon. The railway was built at the start of the 1900's, and was abandonned in the 1960's. Since the mid-1970's, it has been converted to a hiking/biking trail from the Okanagan down through the Coquihalla to Hope.

The most beautiful section, however, happens to be Myra Canyon. There are dozens of old tressle bridges, and two tunnels, all within a few kilometers. And since the hiking trail is the old railway bed, the trail is virtually flat! These pictures are taken from the first few kilometers of the trail starting at Myra Forest service road.

(See the same hiking trip done later in November.)
