When Mom and I were in Vancouver, last Septembre, Mom purchased a "pendatif" made of mammoth tusks (en ivoire de mammouth). I don't know if you remember but it is of oval shape, much much longer than wide and the inside is pink and green. Each time that she wears it, she regrets that she did not buy the earrings that do with it! Now, I would like to buy them for Easter.

Ok! I went out Friday afternoon and evening, and decided that I would find out where you and Mom bought this "mammoth tusk" jewelry.
We bought the pendant on Robston street, in one of those souvenir shop.
Well! This was a good place to start. However, Robson street is the busiest tourist spot in Vancouver, after Water Street. (Water Street is the area known as "Gastown".) So, I spent part of the afternoon and most of the evening walking up & down Robson Street. I did find a few jewellery stores, but no-one had ever heard of jewellery made of fosilized mammoth ivory. On top of which, I could not remember the pendant that Mom bought, so I was at a big disadvantage.

What I did find, is something called Rhodonite, a pink stone that is found on Vancouver Island. However, I could not imagine this being what you were looking for. Needless to say, when I finally went home on Friday night, I was very dissapointed. All I had found were displays of "cheap" jewellery cases that looked like this one.

The next day, I decided to go take a look down on Water Street, in Gastown. I remembered a few jewellery stores there, and it gave me a reason to get out of the house.

Needless to say, it was payback time! I found a series of shops that deal in the mammoth tusk jewellery! The first store where I found it even had a pendant that reminded me of what Mom had bought when she was here. I took a picture of it, just to see if it really is what I remember. This particular store did not have any earrings, but he told me that it would take about 5 days to order them once I told him exactly what colours I wanted.

From this point, at least I knew what I was looking for! I found another store that had blue earrings and green earrings, but they didn't have any of the pink & green that would match what Mom already has.

Working my way back up the street, I came upon a store that I remembered going into with you and Mom! Water Street runs east-west, and this is on the south side of the street. I think you'll like what I found there. They have many pendants, and a few earrings. Among them was this pair of pink and green earrings. Personally, I like them better than the other two earrings since they are round and slightly smaller than the big "drop"-shapped earrings I had seen at the previous store.

Satisfied that I'd found something, I headed back home. I stopped in one additional store that had both green earrings and pink earrings, but the colours looked all wrong, and if I remember correctly, would not match what Mom has as a pendant.

Hey Dude! Check this out, man!!!

I found more! Lots more! And they're green and pink on top of it! And better yet, the store is a souvenir shop on Robson street! The colours in the pictures are a bit off, but I think it'll give you an idea.

Take a look at the following earrings:

So what do you think? Remember that the first place I found above also said he could order them specifically, and that it would take about a week. But if we're going to do that, then you need to tell me real soon.

Ok, what do you think? These are the ones that I bought. The guy said that I could return them for a different pair if they're not the ones you want. Let me know.

Si ils ne sont pas beaucoup plus longues que celles que tu as deja achetees, et si ce n'est vraiment pas un probleme de les echanger, je prendrais les "LONG"
I went back and exchanged the earrings like you said. The guy complained about it not being "exchangeable", but he had promised me I could... The ones that I'm sending you are the ones labelled "long" from above. Hope this works out!
