There is one particular unfortunate incident which took place after the weekend camp. In all there were perhaps more than 40 campers that attended the training; most were in groups of maybe 5 or 6.

When the weekend was over, I walked around to visit the different sites that individual groups had occupied over the last 3 days. As can be seen in the following pictures, the state of the land that Scout Canada leaders deem acceptable when leaving a wilderness campsite is very discouraging.

All of these images were taken on the afternoon of Sunday January 18, 1998.
