Eight-year-old dies after toboggan slams into tree

St-Michel-des-Saints, Que. An eight-year-old Quebec girl is dead as a
result of a tobogganing accident while she was playing with friends.
The girl was riding the sled with two friends yesterday afternoon when
they ran into a tree in this community just north of Montreal.
Provincial police said the others were able to jump off before the
toboggan hit the tree.
Police said the children were playing on a private road that is not
maintained in the winter and where they often played.
