For vacation we travelled first to New York to see Kathie's side of the family. We spent a full day in Alexandria Bay to see Boldt Castle.[*]

From there, we headed up to Québec city. The kids had a blast in le vieux Québec with the old canons.

The last week we spent in Gatineau at my parent's place. My father had this awesome idea of setting up a treasure hunt in the woods behind the house. I think it was the highlight of the trip, and the kids are unlikely to ever forget that weekend. It started with a not-so-subtle hint discovered in an old wine bottle buried in the dirt. This led to several maps of the woods all leading to more hints, and finally a locked chest filled with old treasure. The activity was definitely a success!
